Harvest Time
Harvest Time "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." (Malachi 3:10).
Jesus said to His disciples, "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest" (Matthew 9:38).
Matthew 19:14.
"Harvest Time" is crucial because weather conditions can have a huge affect on the farmer's crop. An
earlier harvest date may avoid damaging conditions, but result in poorer yield and quality. Delaying harvest may result in a better harvest, but increases the risk of weather problems. Well, we believe that it's the right time for harvest at Olive Branch Mission. The temperature is dropping and our number of homeless men, women and children who are trying to avoid the cold weather is rapidly rising. At OBM, we have been reararranging our shelter so that we can add fifty more beds for women and children in desperate need of love, protection, support, guidance and a hot home-cooked meal.Fifty more beds gives us the opportunity to feed fifty more souls, physically and spiritually. The Journey to Daybreak
And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven...? Acts 9:3
Daybreak is that moment when a person finally sees a way out of the slump he or she has been enduring for what to them seems too long. Daybreak is that period in which the grey clouds begin to open up and heaven seems to be a little closer to earth. Olive Branch Mission provides daybreak moments over and over again to every person that walks through its doors looking for shelter, food, hope and genuine compassion. It's at Olive Branch Mission that many find the true meaning to Psalm 30:5 which proclaims that "Weeping may endure for a night, but JOY comes in the morning!" View this Newsletter...

What Can He Say But Thanks to You

These poor outcasts have their feelings and are many times very proud and sensitive. They resent being looked at as phenomenon or a curse, or being visited by those who look at them with horror, disgust and pity. Love, sincere, God-given and constant; kindly deeds alone can win these poor fallen one's trust or confidence. View this Newsletter...

During the Holidays
Let them give thanks... ...to the Lord for His unfailing love... ...for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things."
Psalm 107:8.8, NIV
And we'll give as He has prospered, Give to those whose homes are bare; From our bounties we will gladden other hearts who need our care.
Yes, we'll have a real Thanksgiving, Full of gladness, Love and light, As we share our many blessings, Making darkened lives more bright.
An excerpt taken from a poem "A Real Thanksgiving" By Katie V. Hall (One of the founders of Olive Branch Mission
). From her bound volume of poetry entitled "Gems of Comfort Praise and Victory" Published in 1937. View this Newsletter...
